Having assisted the Equestrian Club Riyadh (ECR) in 2002 with the
transfer of their racing operations from Malaz to the new King Abdul
Aziz Racecourse, Janadriyah, IRM has maintained a watchful eye over
the development of the ECR’s racing activities ever since. |

| Racing at King Abdul Aziz Racecourse features top thoroughbred
action, with a mixed programme of racing for both local-bred and
imported horses. The Riyadh season runs from September through to
April. The ECR then stages a brief ‘Summer Season’ in Taif through
June and July, where the weather is more agreeable.
There are several Saudi ‘Group’ races during the season and
the biggest races, including
The King’s Cup, regularly attract top international jockeys. In
recent years these have included Ryan Moore, Kieran Fallon, Frankie
Dettori, Johnny Murtagh, and Richard Hills, to name but some. |

Initially this involved a full-time presence, with the focus on
defining the operating and maintenance procedures for the new track
and equestrian facilities.
As the new racecourse established itself at Janadriyah,
however, IRM’s role subsequently evolved into the consulting
function it fulfils today - whereby expertise remains on call, and
periodic assessments of ECR operations are carried out to deal with
any operational issues as they arise.

IRM has built a strong relationship with the ECR over the past
decade and it has been enormously satisfying to see their operation
go from strength to strength.
The racing and equestrian facilities at Janadriyah are
amongst the best in the world, and the top jockeys who have ridden
there are united in their opinion that King Abdul Aziz Racecourse
features one of the very best dirt racing surfaces worldwide.
